Set in the hillside of the lovely region of Minies, overlooking the beautiful sandy bays of Lassi, Gentilini Winery makes a charming and sophisticated venue for any occasion. This famous winery produces top quality wine from the unique flavours and aromas of the local Kefalonian grape varieties. The making of these fine wines is overseen by Petros Kosmetatos and his wife Marianna from a very well known, Kefalonian family. They would be delighted to welcome you!
Wedding ceremonies are held in the shade under a peaceful, elegant pergola at the vineyard and can be followed by a selection of Gentilini’s famed wines and canapés.
- Lighthouse – Fanari
The lighthouse of Argostoli, named the Beacon of St. Theodoroi, is set on its own little peninsular just 3 km scenic drive from Argostoli along the Fanari road. It is a picturesque, low level, concentric building unlike its English counterparts. The lighthouse with its stunning sunsets across the water to the rolling hills of Lixouri, make it popular with many wedding couples. It is a fabulous site to capture striking and memorable wedding photos.
Katavothres Rest Area is home to one of the most important geological phenomena on the island. At the cape of St Theodore, next to Lighthouse of Argostoli (Fanari), pretty water holes are found in the grounds of the venue. Here sinkholes beneath the sea transport sea water underground across the entire island, from west to east. It takes two weeks for the sea water from Katavothres to reappear at Melissani Lake, near Sami!
Katavothres is a perfect setting for both your wedding ceremony and reception. The Katavothres site boasts the most glamorous restaurant and bar on the island. With its scenic ocean views, first class dining and a large dance and entertainment area, Katavothres is hard to beat and a great favourite with the Island locals.
